Minutes

Data Production

  • The b1pi simulation has lost many of its reconstructed FDC pions between 09/14 and 09/18 (see links above), but the recon_tests are fine (experimental data). This may be related to Sean's mcsmear FDC "fix" ...
  • Monitoring launch v21 of Spring 2017 finished recently, and it includes new dE/dx, new BCAL clusterizer, and some improved FCAL timing calibrations. People should look at it and compare the results to v19 to see the effects of these changes.
  • The next Spring 2017 analysis launch will be on Friday, or as soon as the library is ready (hopefully by then). If you want to analyze new channels, please send them to Alex ASAP. Also, don't send plugins anymore, they aren't necessary, channels can be fully defined on the command line now.
  • We will do a limited analysis launch over the 2016 data soon, using the launch v2 tag, in order to properly compare flux-normalized yields of select channels between the two data periods.

Studies

  • For triggering in the FCAL, Alex has now added to the simulation: FCAL gain variations, baseline subtraction & fluctuations, and a correction factor to the simulated energy deposited by MIPs due to Cherenkov light, although it is still being tuned and will use Iliya's code. This correction factor is being implemented in hitFCAL.c for GEANT3, and we should make sure that it is also implemented in GEANT4.
