Minutes

Attending: Beni, Simon, Elton, Rory, Albert (joined toward the end)

  1. Previous CPP meeting: Jul 21, 2021
  2. Announcements
  3. Action Items
    • TOF trigger simulation: Simon has a first pass at this on a branch. Only the CTP plane logic is implemented. He will implement a 3/4 logic for hits from the two planes and make this an option.
    • Next meeting: 10 am next Wed.
  4. Discussion: AI for Experimental Controls testing during CPP. See email from David
    • Postponed till David can join and provide a summary of the proposal
  5. MWPC Testing (Albert, Rory, Beni)
    • Update July 22 Log Entry 3888696
    • Rory gave a summary: No broken wires (no anomalous current draw up to 1000 V); scintillator trigger working up to DAQ; rough gain match using 55Fe source; close to taking data.
    • There is a TI and/or ECL/NIM converter misbehaving. Investigating. (Sasha has promised to bring a new TI).
    • Elton: What about adaptions to the LV on the chamber? Rory, Beni and Chris discussed options for adding a new subD connector to one side, which could be routed to the opposite side of the chamber for connections to the other half.
  6. MWPC update from UMass (Rory)
    • Enclosures are complete and fit nicely to the chambers.
    • Plan to add a knock-out for connection to dry N2
    • There is still some visible noise on the chambers in the EEL. Rory is investigating options for additional grounding using Cu tape. Beni suggested a direct strong connection between the signal detector connector and the Faraday cage.
    • Will bring down the second batch of 4 chambers to JLab after Labor Day
  7. hdgeant4 updates (Beni and Simon)
  8. GlueX Data Analysis
  9. CPP Simulations
  10. PID + AI
  11. Other business
  12. Next meeting
