Production running cycling through targets:
+
* '''JD80-212 80um''' diamond, '''200 nA''' beam current
The plan is to run at 200nA with full LHe4 target and the solenoid and drift chambers on.
+
** 800M events for '''0/90 deg''' and '''PARA''' setting
 +
** 800M events for '''0/90 deg''' and '''PERP''' setting
 +
** 800M events for '''45/135 deg''' and '''PARA''' setting
 +
** 800M events for '''45/135 deg''' and '''PERP''' setting
 +
* 400M events with '''4.5×10-4 Al 40um''' radiator (on goniometer!), '''300 nA''' beam current
 +
** Set '''new reference for amorphous radiator''' in CBREM GUI.
 +
* Runs should be no longer than 2 hours.
 +
* Keep the state of the production cycle on the whiteboard up-to-date.

* DAQ configuration name: PHYSICS_PRIMEX
+
== Special instructions ==
* Trigger file: CCAL_FCAL_PS_m9.conf
+
* Keep the runs to 2h or less.

+
* Put '''comments''' for each run in the window opened by the DAQ.
 +
** The comment should at least contain the following information "<radiator> <PARA/PERP>, <beam current>, LH2 target, <typical trigger rate>, <typical live time>, <issues if any>"
 +
** Example: "JD80-212 80um 45/135 PARA, 200nA, LH2 target, 81kHz, 93% live time"
 +
** Note: due to a software issue run comments may not show up in RCDB, but they are saved by the DAQ and will be later added to the RCDB entries.
 +
* Set a new '''amorphous reference''' in the CBREM GUI each time the amorphous radiator is used.
 +
* Be sure to hit the '''"PARA" or "PERP" button''' in the CBREM GUI when switching diamond targets. Otherwise the diamond alignment may be in an undefined state and the experiment may be flooded with low-energy photons.
 +
* Watch for '''locked-up FCAL HV bases''' towards the end of a run and clear them before starting a new run. See [https://halldweb.jlab.org/hdops/wiki/index.php/Forward_Calorimeter_Shift#FCAL_High_Voltage_channel_with_yellow_border].
 +
* Watch the '''DAQ lifetime''' when beam is on. Sometimes it drops to 0%. Just stopping and restarting the run fixes this issue in most cases.

=== timing problems ===

If there are any, please add sdobbs@jlab.org to the notifications in the logbook entry.

Shoulders on timing peaks might be features and not problems: https://logbooks.jlab.org/entry/3933867

=== AI for CDC HV ===
+

+
Set the CDC HV before the start of each run using the value suggested by the AI.
+

+
* There are instructions here https://wiki.jlab.org/epsciwiki/index.php/PrimEx_instructions
+
* The AI uses measurements from epics averaged over the last minute, so the AI should be used just before starting a run, when the beam current is at its target value and has been steady for the past minute.
+
* If for any reason this proves to be problematic, please revert to the nominal HV, 2125V, and contact Naomi.
+

+
=== PS and/or PSC scalers freezing ===
+

+
Keep an eye out for the PS and/or PSC scalers freezing.  If it happens, then step 2+3 of the instructions 'Run PS Scalers' at https://halldweb.jlab.org/hdops/wiki/index.php/Pair_Spectrometer_Shift  can be followed to reset them, it has to be done on gluon100.
+

+
=== Hall Delta ===
+

+
It's good practice to refer to our hall as Delta when talking to MCC, to make sure that there is no acoustic confusion between us and Hall B.

Run Plan

Production running cycling through targets:

  • JD80-212 80um diamond, 200 nA beam current
    • 800M events for 0/90 deg and PARA setting
    • 800M events for 0/90 deg and PERP setting
    • 800M events for 45/135 deg and PARA setting
    • 800M events for 45/135 deg and PERP setting

    • Set new reference for amorphous radiator in CBREM GUI.
  • Runs should be no longer than 2 hours.
  • Keep the state of the production cycle on the whiteboard up-to-date.

Special instructions

  • Put comments for each run in the window opened by the DAQ.
    • The comment should at least contain the following information "<radiator> <PARA/PERP>, <beam current>, LH2 target, <typical trigger rate>, <typical live time>, <issues if any>"
    • Example: "JD80-212 80um 45/135 PARA, 200nA, LH2 target, 81kHz, 93% live time"
    • Note: due to a software issue run comments may not show up in RCDB, but they are saved by the DAQ and will be later added to the RCDB entries.
  • Set a new amorphous reference in the CBREM GUI each time the amorphous radiator is used.
  • Be sure to hit the "PARA" or "PERP" button in the CBREM GUI when switching diamond targets. Otherwise the diamond alignment may be in an undefined state and the experiment may be flooded with low-energy photons.
  • Watch for locked-up FCAL HV bases towards the end of a run and clear them before starting a new run. See [1].
  • Watch the DAQ lifetime when beam is on. Sometimes it drops to 0%. Just stopping and restarting the run fixes this issue in most cases.
  • New hdops wiki feedback form is here please use this to report confusing or outdated wiki instruction pages.
