  Hi Elton,
   I will not be able to participate in the CPP meeting tomorrow. There is an ERR for the Alert
experiment going on the whole day where I have to be the chair.
   With regards to a new gas system for the FMWPC , I think we have nost of the parts
already available as we can use spare MFC and controller box. What is missing is
a "gas panel" in the gas shed and a mixing tank with a pressure relive valve. 
Basically a copy of lets say the CDC. We do not need an alcohol admixture system.
   This system could be build mostly during beam taking (second part of this year) so
it would not take man power away from current ongoing work.

      • Options include building a new gas missing system or purchasing premixed 90/10 Ar/CO2. Premix is more expensive but also lead times are long. Need to investigate pros/cons.

      • Need stable hdgeant4 MC operation to generate events
    2. Higher level analysis (e.g. PID, efficiencies and reconstruction) (Rory)
      • Andrew met with David and Kishan last week. Andrew provided Kishan with some data, which he has used to train a neutral net model. They plan to meet tomorrow afternoon to discuss the next steps.
    3. Rates in MWPCs (Ilya)
      • Use rate estimates for first chamber determined for studies of the joint in Pb shielding.
      • Geant3 calculations use a cutoff energy of 10 keV. Rory: Fe55 5.9 keV X-ray does not penetrate Al wall -> this cutoff is reasonable.
    4. Microscope move (Elton)
      • Meeting with Richard and Jim on April 12 @ 1:30 pm.

      • Estimates difficult. Time to publication is probably at least 2 years. Alex: COMPASS took 5 years to publish their first data. Difficulty was adjusting MC to match data to the necessary precision. GlueX probably has a better start on MC studies compared to COMPASS. COMPASS has now switched to Geant4 and has yet to publish their polarizability data from 2012.

  1. GlueX Data Analysis (Andrew)
    • Andrew met with Richard and has learned how to run his Bethe-Heitler event generator. Would like to make direct comparison with Rory's program. Elton will send a python script as an example for processing.
    • Polarization studies: Current result is a about 3sigma low compared to TPOL. The extraction depends directly on the beam asymmetry Sigma, which has kinematical dependences, in particular the mass of the pair W. The data and MC do not match all kinematics. In particular there is a deficiency of the data at low W (corresponding to small angles). There is also a mismatch in the elasticity There was discussion on this discrepancy and Andrew was encouraged to send an email to the google software list for feedback.
