  1. Firmware - Cody has been working on the firmware to be used for the upcoming run, this is now complete (or near to complete, pending further tests). The most persistent problem was caused by subsequent triggers too close together in time, and he has reduced the level 1 trigger hold-off (minimum time between sequential triggers) from 30us to 500ns. This increases the lifetime (time before crashing) and also the live-time. Other constraints could be added if necessary. The readout speed is dominated by the backplane, occupancy of 1 hit per chip (4 channels per connector) causes ~ 20% deadtime (100% occupancy causes 80% deadtime); 4 hits per connector would be typical for one track but the channels for each fadc were chosen to minimize occupancy (eg one from an inner ring, 2 from outer rings). During the course of this Cody spotted some places where the FPGA daisy-chaining could be improved, this will be helpful for the new firmware development.
  2. Documentation - Naomi added the latest changes to the new firmware to the format specification and will come up for a suggestion to replace the counter-intuitive nomenclature NSB and A for the FDC section because she has trouble remembering that in this context B precedes A (before & after), every time.
  3. Emulation software - David is giving top priority to the monitoring software but will look into trouble-shooting the new fa125 emulation software later on.
  4. Next meeting - Cody will call the next meeting
