Minutes

Attending:Chris, Yi, John, Elton, Chuck, Jim, Scot, Ivan, Jack, Eugene

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Schedule, reporting, and manpower (Elton)
    • Will review status next week
  4. SiPM production testing (everyone)
    1. Optical (Carl)
      • Photon intensity has been calibrated
      • Electronics board can now be installed once LED is attached more securely.
    2. Readout (Yi)
      • Communication with all components
      • Communication with PS is working, but interface is being finalized
      • Missing a TTL->NIM translator (may need a NIM crate also).
  5. Mechanical assembly (Scot back from surgery)
    • Brought in the fixture for gluing light guides. Procedures and setup were discussed
    • Gluing tests can be done on the miniBcal with a thin sheet between guides and module.
  6. Mechanical (Jim)
    • Cooling plate in shop removing shot leg of board to ease installation of cooling line
    • Vacuum pump needs to be hooked up. Dave Butler has one that can be used.
  7. Mechanical drawings (Chuck)
  8. Temperature compensation (Jack)
    • Design based on assuming Vop = Vbr + 1.4 V.
    • Adding test voltages to board.
    • First voltage to be used for checking pins before thermistor and SiPM are installed. Will installation of resistors.
    • Second voltage (below breakdown) to check expected voltages (temperature dependent) after assembly including SiPMs.
  9. Preamp-summing (Fernando/Chris)
    • "Bucket of Despair"
    • Square test boards in progress. One complete and in EEL 126 test setup.
    • Wedge boards waiting on Fernando to approve files before they go out for fabrication
    • New resistors from Jack have been added to parts list
    • U-boards have been ordered and should be received in the next few days. Tina has been checked out for soldering pins. Fixtures in progress to make assembly simpler.
  10. SiPM testing (Ivan)
    • Waiting on signatures for laser operation.
