Agenda

  1. FDC Update
  2. CDC Update
  3. Tracking Update

Minutes

  1. Dan Carman reported on the FDC.
    1. The had the full-size protoyped sealed on the bench before Christmas, but when it was moved to the cosmic stand, it developed leaks. There were tracked down to the chamber being "flopier" than expected and the use of a 73mil O-ring. With the chamber back on the bench, they used 93mil O rings and have reinforced the chamber.
    2. Also found that the gas inlets and outlets delaminated. A new design has been found.
    3. IUCF contract may need some negotiation. A reorganization at IUCF has turned physics support into a profit center. With the help of Matt Shepherd, they are trying to figure out how things will proceed.
  2. Curtis reported on the CDC.
    1. Work on the clean room stopped in the middle of December when students left and is starting up this week. The walls and ceiling are up and the plastic has been put on the ceiling. The next step is to finish putting the

30mil 4'by8' sheets of clear plastic up.

    1. Gary asked if someone could give the endplates the "white glove" test when the positions are checked at JLab.
    2. The CMU contract is being looked at by purchasing now at JLab, we hope ti have feedback by the end of the week.
  1. Tracking no update.

Decision

  1. Dan noted that we need to make a decision by the middle of February on how large the hole needs to be in the cathodes. The decision for deadening the wires can occur at a much later dates.
  2. Curtis noted that we will need to find a new time slot for the tracking meeting as he teaches on Monday afternoon.
