A Word on Clouding

Clouding is a word we use to describe an apparent color change in the cured glue. At these points the light guide is not well connected and the air between the PMT and light guide make the glue seem "cloudy". An example of this can be seen here:

Most of the detectors exhibiting this characteristic came apart due to the weakened connection. All of those that came apart did so cleanly and are in the process of being reglued with no damage to the detectors.
