  1. Fiber Specifications
    • Fiber measurements (JLab and Regina)
      • JLAB (Carl). Carl presented the slides reviewing his measurements of Kuraray and Bicron fibers using a PMT and SiPM. There is consistency between the two manufacturers. PMT response to fibers varies as expected on the color of light output. SiPM response is very uniform independent of fiber spectra. The attenuation lengths are based on four points per fiber. The green fibers have attenuation lengths of about 2 m, the blue fibers seem to have attenuation lengths of greater than 3.5 m. We will need to review/compare/understand these results along with the measurements from Regina. This will be on the agenda for the next meeting when we have had time to digest some of the information.
      • (Regina) Kuraray fibers have arrived, but were waiting for SMA connectors for testing. These have been received, so fiber testing can proceed.
  2. FCAL Update
    • Flash ADC time resolution tests with laser+PMT. Mihajlo reported that he is setting up a test in the lab to measure the extraction of timing from measurements with a flash. The current setup includes a laser feeding a pmt and the original single-channel FLASH ADC from Paul Smith. Ultimately the goal is to understand the accuracy of timing for the glass in the Fcal.
  3. BCAL Update
    • SiPMs Schedule. The contract with SensL was awarded on Monday. The schedule shown is the agreed schedule for this contract. In preparation for the next meeting we will develop a set of criteria for selecting SiPMs as well as the testing proceedures for measuring the key deciding parameters.
    • Price of readout for outer layer for Hamamatsu. This will need to be discussed in a broader setting including light guides and magnetic shielding. This will include a reevaluation of options at this time. See for example the slides from Silvia Della Torre at the recent Workshop. Given all the pressing issues at the moment, this will likely be looked at in more detail after the Lehman review this summer.
  4. Resolution effects from non-uniform response (Richard) - postponed to next meeting
  5. Calibration Update / Discussion (Athens) - postponed to next meeting
  6. Next meeting will be in two weeks: Friday Apr 4 at 1:00 ET.
