Minutes

  1. REST Production Preparations (est. start date June 1):
    • Goal: provide REST data with sufficiency quality for early publications
    • Spring 2016 Dataset Summary: First priority for production will be runs 11347-11555
    • Spring 2016 Reconstruction Checklist and detector group status reports on readiness for production
      • Simon reported that the updated geometry is almost ready and is on a private branch on github. He expects to submit a pull request soon.
        • Note: Simon will also generate new material maps based on the updated geometry
      • Mike expected the CDC tracking errors to be updated soon in CCDB with a possible small code modification
      • Mark reported that George's BCAL timing improvements are ready and are already in CCDB and sim-recon
      • Will is refining the BCAL energy calibration for the priority runs using the BCAL pi0 skims. Expect some minor clusterizer modifications in the next day or two.
      • Adesh is refining the FCAL gain constants, expect to be completed by the end of the week.
      • Nathan is finishing the TAGH time walk corrections and expects to be done by the end of the week.
      • Alex expects TAGM channel dependent software thresholds to be in place in 1-2 days. Time walk corrections are in CCDB, and checking on a the reference times which may need an update.
      • Magnetic field maps: Eugene updated the field maps based on survey results, which David put in CCDB. Sean will make these new maps the default.
      • Naomi is working on improved CDC gains, which should be ready by next week.
      • Summary:
        • All groups are on track to meet the target start date of June 1 for producing the first priority runs (11347-11555).
        • We will review this list again at next week's meeting to confirm that all groups are ready for production.
  2. Efficiency / Resolution Studies:
    • During Production Launch (CDC Hit, FDC Hit, and BCAL Layer Efficiency):
      • These low-level object efficiencies require EVIO files, and we would like to include them in the production
      • The CDC hit and BCAL layer plugins are mostly ready, and the FDC hit efficiency plugin is in progress
    • During or After Production Launch (FCAL Shower Efficiency, Eenrgy, ST Efficiency, TOF Efficiency, Tracking Efficiency, Resolution, BCAL Shower Efficiency, Energy):
      • These higher-level object efficiencies can be studied with REST files
      • The plugins which are ready in time for the launch will be included
  3. Plugins to include in production:
    • Main: janadot, danarest, track_skimmer (EventStore skims)
    • Raw: occupancy_online, EPICS_dump, TRIG_online
      • Elton checked in updated versions of EPICS_dump and TRIG_online, which will be modified as needed for the production launch
      • Sasha has a private plugin for the trigger analysis, which he'll try to checkin before the launch as well
    • Reconstruction / calibration / flux monitoring: monitoring_hists, TAGGER_online, PSPair_online, BCAL_inv_mass, FCAL_inv_mass (?)
    • Efficiency plugins: trackeff_missing, BCAL_Eff, CDC_Efficiency, FDC_Efficiency (?), ...
    • Analysis plugins: None
    • New EVIO skims with small disk footprints: EPICS, LED triggers, random trigger, others?
      • Beni requested that events with very high occupancy in the CDC be skimmed as well (using the bigevents_skim plugin)
  4. Analyses proceeding in parallel with REST production:
    • Analysis of PS skims for full dataset: 5/23 BLTWG meeting
      • The BLTWG agreed that the polarization and photon flux analyses can be accomplished with the PS skims that were created during the calibration train for the full dataset, thus making them independent from the REST production launch.
      • Polarization: TPOL results for run 11347-11555
        • Nathan presented first results for the TPOL polarization for the first priority run range with an average polarization of ~40.5% from 8.4 to 9 GeV
      • Photon flux: agreed on CCDB tables providing the inputs needed for flux calculations
        • Tagged and Un-tagged PS flux and acceptance (from TAC runs) binned as a function of energy
