Attendees: Alex (Indiana), Elton, David (JLab), George, Blake, Yianna, Zisis (Regina)

  1. Status Quo and links: Links useful for the analysis are listed here: Beam Test Run Plan, Run Table, GlueX E-Log, Online DAQ Database, HOWTO analyze data.
  2. Analysis Priorities
    • BCAL ADC/Energy: It was agreed that this item has the highest priority in the analysis. A discussion took place on the methodology to be employed. It was agreed that Regina will pursue the tagger energy binning with MC simulation input (ratios of deposited energy by MC used in the normalization of the deposited energy in the experiment) and Indiana will use an iterative, simultaneous fit of all BCAL ADC channels versus the tagger energy info, towards optimizing the BCAL summed energy spectra. The former method will account for the different distributions of events from the different geometries, starting with the normal angle and center location of beam impact. The methods will be compare for consistency. Energy resolution will be extracted after we feel confident of our approaches.
    • BCAL TDC/Timing: Once the previous step is well in hand, the ADC versus TDC spectra for each channel will be formed, to ensure that no walk corrections are needed. Then, timing offsets will be determined and the TOF and timing resolution information will be extracted. The latter should be done for individual PMTs, and then by combining North and South info for the Mean Timer and hit resolution, with the contributions of the tagger unfolded.
    • Tagger Info: The tagger appears to be ready based on Simon's work. The bremsstrahlung spectrum looks as expected and the tagger timing with respect to the Veto counter has been completed. It is our understanding that the tagger info in the ROOT trees can be used now as a functioning tool.
  3. Job Assignment
    • Photons: Blake will pursue this as well as the MC sims for every experimental configuration. Understanding of the code will be required to handle pedestals and calibration.
    • Cosmics: Yianna will work on these, both for dedicated runs and for cosmic triggers in the TS. The low energy deposited here will be useful in providing us with a large dynamic range of study. The ADC work here will be closely coordinated to Blake's work.
  4. Other Items
    • David has requested a priorized list of data analysis runs for the JLab farm. The initial runs are those at 90 degrees. Once the completeness of the ROOT trees has been verified by Regina, all runs will be re-analyzed and new trees created.
    • Zisis will contact Eric Scott to see if the two can recreated the lost position measurements of the BCAL in the platform and alcove positions. If access is need to Hall-B to remeasure some of these, this should be done this week while the Hall is open.
