Minutes

FDC Test

Beni still cannot read the FADC125 reliably, it time's out after a short time. This may have happened in the past with VxWorks computers, he's not sure. Gerard needs to check the firmware. Beni will test a more up-to-date FADC125 from Cody (later, new one had same readout problem).

JInventory system

Elliott hopes to implement housing, etc. hierarchies within the next week or so. Hovanes continues to check out barcode scanners.

Counting House

Hovanes reports that electrical work in the Rack Room has begin, most parts are here. Expect completion in about a month.

Summer Students

• Rob continues to work on RootSpy/Mini-Hbook. Next task is place data in shared memory and serve out from there.
• Andrew is ready to implement two-way communication in JANA, the DED (Java) stuff is all ready.

Elog

Theo has a prototype using Drupal, see his slides above. With luck a working version will be available for the Solenoid test. He says the new design will meet all the requirements from the halls. Many details still to be worked out, of course.

EPICS

• Vanik continues to work on the Harp Scan app using the XPS controller.
• This integrates motion control with readout of Struck scalers.
• Still need goniometer app.
• Vanik leaves soon, will return in Jan when we should have the goniometer.
• Nerses will arrive just as soon as the new DOE regulations on MOU's is satisfied, maybe be the end of Aug or early Sep. He will work on HV and LV applications.

Orders

• Josh ordered some computers and screens for the solenoid test.
• Hovanes ordered some portable NIM and VME crates, CAEN FPGA modules and some scopes.

Solenoid

• Interim vacuum system being designed.
• Racks almost done except for new vacuum stuff.
• Things going mostly according to schedule.
• Still unsure of the mechanical/infrastructure schedule, waiting for Tom's input.
• This may delay going cold from mid-Jan to mid-Feb.

DAQ/Electronics

• TI boards due in a week or so, 10 boards, final design.
• Have 2 prototype TS boards.
• FADC250's going to UMass in a few weeks for test/eval.
• 3rd gen Core I7's due out soon, but we're still going with previous generation.
• No response from RFQ for Linux ROC's.
• Bryan is working on getting EL6 to boot and host Linux ROC's. Concentrating on CentOS and SciLinux.
• Dave is making progress on the simulated raw data tape routines.
