Agenda

  1. Announcements
  2. FDC Update logbook
  3. CDC Update

Minutes

Participants: Curtis, Naomi, Beni, Simon, Eugene, Lubomir, Tim, Dave

FDC Update

  1. First package was fully assembled and tested. All channels working fine, except there's noise on few strips of the top cell. It was found that the noise originates from the +HV chain on one of the sectors but so far we were not able to identify what exactly is causing the problem.
  2. Techs working now on the second package: four cathodes are ready and the first wire frame strung and waiting for wire deadening.
  3. Will put protective covers on the first package and move it to JLab for tests with DAQ. Need help from Bill for the installation of the covers.
  4. Beni about the testing set-up at 126: will have the F1TDCs for the first package but to use them need also the translation boards that are not yet ready.
  5. FDC section of the TDR requires significant modifications. Lubomir, Simon, Beni are in charge; Bill will make proper drawings.

CDC Update

  1. The gas lines and outer shell have been installed.
  2. The CDC has been reoriented vertically for stringing.
  3. So far rows 1-4, 13-16, 25, have been strung and 26 is in progress. There are 2 more straight rows to do after row 26.
  4. Between stringing sessions the techs are also making measurements of wire tension and practising soldering. Most wires are within 5% of the specified tension (30g).
  5. The production documents are being updated (nearly finished).CDC Construction Docs
  6. We have to start work on updating the TDR.
  7. Naomi's latest resolution studies with the CDC protoype are here: CDC prototype latest Using a high threshold to find the peak followed by an earlier lower threshold to give the time gives much better resolution than using one threshold for both. Beni asked about the fADC tail suppression. Naomi is working on this, getting data to Gerard.
  8. Curtis asked about the new fADC, Beni and Eugene said that there would be a preproduction run of 20 which would be available in the spring.
  9. Curtis offered CMU's help with testing electronics.
