Send Todd a geometry of tagger area, including the mapped tagger magnet field, for GEANT simulations (Richard). Richard is working to update the defined geometry based on a drawing received from Tim, Richard will add field map from Dan Sober - Estimate rates and ranges of parameters needed for the photon beam tuning (Todd for accelerator; Elton, Hovanes, Eugene, Alexandre for Hall D)
- Need rates for profiler, start counter, ps
- Richard will provide a "sacrificial" board with 30 SiPMs to register neutron damage during initial electron beam tune.
- Hovanes is preparing photomultipliers that can be used to measure beam loss along the beamline.
-
Alexandre will meet with RadCon next week to coordinate details of accessing monitor information

- Announcements
- Accelerator Meeting
- Eugene, Alexandre, Todd attended a meeting to discuss the upcoming running
- This fall running at 500 MHz: 5.5 passes Hall D; 4 passes Hall A; 1 pass Hall B.
- Accepted extension of first beam delivery by four days to accommodate initial photon beam commissioning before 6 day of shutdown.
- Resume running after shutdown with delivery to other halls. Hall D retains priority for the next 3 weeks of operation
- Beyond the 3 weeks, accelerator has a varied program but could deliver beam to Hall D on evenings and weekends.
- Break at Thanksgiving, followed by other Accelerator programs with beam availability on evenings and weekends till Dec 22. Hall D would retain priority but if not running Hall A could receive 5 pass beam.
- Beam delivery to Hall B for HPS will be during evenings and weekends to allow for CLAS12 installation during the day.
- Briefly discussed spring running. No changes to nominal plan for 8 weeks of running.
- Accelerator Meeting
- ARR presentations
- Tagger Hall Geometry
- Richard, Elton and Chuck had a phone conference on Friday to review input to the simulation.
- Most of the geometry was specified, but there remain some uncertainties especially related to shielding that has not yet been installed.
- Chuck should update the layout in the tagger hall when he returns next week.
- Discussion of "virtual" volumes to record particle fluxes.
- Pavel: Suggest setup large planes along the wall and at the focal plane below the beamline.
- Alexandre: Add detectors at the positions of the radiation detectors for comparison with measurements. See rad_mon_fall14.pdf
- Richard has setup a page that describes the setup of the simulation at Beam Simulations
- Output is in the form of PAW ntuples.
- Final geometry will await precise determination of shielding to be installed in the hall. However, the present configuration should be valuable as a first step in determining radiation levels.
- Recommendations from ERR Report
- Aug 8 Photon Beam Commissioning Review Final Report
- Accelerator and Hall D Interface Document
- Elton circulated an updated draft (v10) based on v9 from accelerator.
- Feedback received from Michael, Tim and Hovanes. A new version (v11) will be based on Michaels edits, since they are the largest number.
- Elton will circulate the updated version for additional comments.
- Update on Photon Commissioning (Alexandre and Eugene)
- The plan is being flushed out and discussed in broad strokes.
- Some feedback was given on the organization.
- RadCon update
- RSAD is almost finalized. There was some discussion regarding the limit to 200 nA of cw beam. It was decided that this if fine for the fall running.
- Tasks are being entered into the ATlist for parasitic measurements of radiation doses for different Hall D beam configurations.
- Other business
- Next meeting in 2 weeks: Sep 3, 4 pm.
