Action Items

  • Estimate rates and ranges of parameters needed for the photon beam tuning (Todd for accelerator; Eugene, Alexandre for Hall D)
    • Need rates for profiler, start counter, ps
  • Richard will provide a "sacrificial" board with 30 SiPMs to register neutron damage during initial electron beam tune.
  • Hovanes is preparing photomultipliers that can be used to measure beam loss along the beamline.
  • Complete the tagger layout with the expected configuration for the fall running, including all shielding. (Tim, Chuck, Elton)
  • Circulate the updated version of ICD (Elton)

Agenda

  1. Announcements
  2. Accelerator and Hall D Interface Document - update
    1. page 5 yellow highlight: Do we want these references [2...7] or should we update them to more relevant information? See Mike's note in the text.
    2. As suggested, I have added Appendix B with the table, prepared by Alexandre and presented at the ERR
    3. I have left the comments by Mike with a "?" so that the item can be checked
    4. The figures still must be updated to current versions. Please send me an appropriate file if you have it.
    5. Appendix A has been updated with the parameters suggested by Richard, although this probably deserves further discussion. Note that the list of parameters (in "green markup by Mike") on the bottom of p 18 were left simply for reference and discussion. After agreement on final numbers, only the values in the tables will remain in the document.
  3. Update on Photon Commissioning (Alexandre)
  4. Beam Simulations
  5. RadCon update
  6. Other business

Minutes

Attending: Elton, Alexandre, Eugene, Hovanes, Tim (Hall D); Pavel (RadCon); Alex Barnes, Richard, James, Brendan (UConn, last three joined later); Curtis (CMU); Todd (CASA); Michael (Operations).

  1. Action items
    1. Halo counters. Hovanes asked where these should be located to make cables.
      • 15 counters available. Some are connected to scintillators, others not.
      • Locate some downstream of tagger for use with harp scan. Locate one upstream of the tagger to measure room rates. Locate some downtream of the secondary collimator, likely only one is useful. One on the upstream wall of the collimator hut. A couple downstream of the PS converter for use with harp.
      • There are no ion chambers in the collimator hut.
      • Can study the rates in the scintillators in the collimator hut as the collimator is moved horizontally.
  2. Accelerator and Hall D Interface Document - update
    1. page 5 yellow highlight: Do we want these references [2...7] or should we update them to more relevant information? See Mike's note in the text.
      • Todd and Michael will suggest appropriate references.
    2. As suggested, I have added Appendix B with the table, prepared by Alexandre and presented at the ERR
      • Elton will update table and Alexandre will proof.
    3. I have left the comments by Mike with a "?" so that the item can be checked
      • Michael will check the "?" marks and also corrections to previous version.
    4. The figures still must be updated to current versions. Please send me an appropriate file if you have it.
      • Decided to leave Fig 1 as is with updated caption. Remove Figs 2 and 3.
    • Alexandre is linking to relevant procedures and getting input from experts for them.
  4. Beam Simulations
    • Todd will use Richards instructions to start some simulations and see how far he gets.
    • (Richard) Final geometry decisions made at last meeting have not been implemented yet, but should not prevent Todd from proceeding with testing.
  5. RadCon update
    • Started setting up radiation probes
    • Installed computers for monitoring of site boundary doses. Completion by end of the month is tight. May need a discussion of options for running without the boundary monitoring.
    • (Alexandre) Cables for additional CARMS were made yesterday. Installation is on schedule.
  6. Other business
    • Curtis: Schedule walk-through training SAF113 during the collaboration meeting. May require going to restricted access. Will need to coordinate with Accelerator PD at that time. It will also need cutting beam to tagger area.
