Action Items

  • Estimate rates and ranges of parameters needed for the photon beam tuning (Todd for accelerator; Eugene, Alexandre for Hall D)
    • Need rates for profiler, start counter, ps
  • Complete the tagger drawing with the expected configuration for the fall running, including all shielding. (Tim, Chuck, Elton)

Agenda

  1. Announcements
  2. Accelerator and Hall D Interface Document - update
  3. Update on Photon Commissioning (Alexandre)
  4. Beam Simulations
  5. RadCon update
  6. Other business

Minutes

Attending: Elton, Eugene, George, Sasha, Alexandre (JLab); Richard, James (UConn); Curtis (CMU); Todd (CASA); Pavel, George (RadCon).

Agenda

  1. Announcements
    • Accelerator schedule delayed. Option A: Accelerator startup shifts from Sep 19 till Oct 9. Option B: Startup on Sep 30 for 4 GeV running, 10 GeV running starts Oct 20.
  2. Moving microscope into Hall D (Richard)
    • Suggests that moving microscope into tagger hall occur at the earliest possible date.
    • (Sasha) moving into the tagger hall and testing there will simplify his setup. Only one crate with Flashes will be necessary for checking the system.
    • (Eugene) closing off access with the shielding wall will wait till close to the time for closeup of the hall, giving flexibility in when the microscope is moved.
    • (Elton) Tom mentioned that there will be considerable activity in the tagger hall and it may be wise to delay moving the (delicate) microscope into the tagger hall.
    • Discussion of details of when the microscope will move will continue during the run coordinator meeting tomorrow.
  3. Accelerator and Hall D Interface Document - update
    • Waiting on feedback from accelerator on latest draft.
  4. Update on Photon Commissioning (Alexandre)
    • Developing links to various procedures needed for the commissioning
    • Sasha has provided a procedure for trigger commissioning. The plan will be discussed Monday at the trigger meeting.
  5. Beam Simulations
    • Richard: Simulation is ready to use. Todd has been away and start looking at the code for simulations.
  6. RadCon update (Pavel)
    • EPICS database is being developed for accessing variables relevant to radiation control
    • Would like to access variables from the additional monitors. (Alexandre) Melvin is connecting the monitors and will make the measurements available via EPICS
    • General Beam parameters: It would be good to have access to various (important) variables to study correlation's. We need to develop this.
  7. Beam parameters
    • From the request from Pavel, some discussion ensued related to how to access them for Hall D and other applications.
    • Todd: Draft comfort displays for Hall D have been developed by Michael. See examples of the Hall D and Hall B screens.
    • Hovanes will start developing a screen for Hall D based on the comfort screens from accelerator.
  8. Other business
