Inspection of Components

  • Eighty (40) light guides unpacked?

Four (4) of each size, "A" through "K?"

  • Light guides inspected for scratches and other abberations?
  • Checked that all light guides are acceptably sized using the gauge plate?
  • Module face inspected for scratches, dead fibers, and other abberations?

List number/location of dead fibers.

Cleaning of Components

  • Module face cleaned?
  • Light guide faces cleaned?
  • Light guide LED mounting hole cleaned?

Setup and Preparation

  • Light guide alignment fixture fit to module face?
  • Glue dispensing unit powered on?
  • Settings correct (Pressure - 25 psi, Time - 0.050, Vacuum operational)?
  • UV light source powered on?
  • Rotary vacuum pump powered on, valve to wand assemply open?
  • Record glue batch/bottle number.
  • Glue inspected for opacity, consistancy, and loose particles?

Column One

  • Light guides arranged from "A" at top of wand to "K" at bottom of wand?
  • O-ring surfaces checked, vacuum gauge reads appropriate value?
  • Vacuum wand elevated, suction will hold light guide column?
  • Glue applied, set successfully?
  • Excess glue removed?
  • Glue joints acceptable?

If not, give correction page (to follow).

Column Two

  • Light guides arranged from "A" at top of wand to "K" at bottom of wand?
  • O-ring surfaces checked, vacuum gauge reads appropriate value?
  • Vacuum wand elevated, suction will hold light guide column?
  • Glue applied, set successfully?
  • Excess glue removed?
  • Glue joints acceptable?

If not, give correction page (to follow).

Column Three

  • Light guides arranged from "A" at top of wand to "K" at bottom of wand?
  • O-ring surfaces checked, vacuum gauge reads appropriate value?
  • Vacuum wand elevated, suction will hold light guide column?
  • Glue applied, set successfully?
  • Excess glue removed?
  • Glue joints acceptable?

If not, give correction page (to follow).

Column Four

  • Light guides arranged from "A" at top of wand to "K" at bottom of wand?

Post-Procedure Inspection

  • Light guide edges fit within module boundaries?

If not, assess viability of replacing problematic guide. Light guide replacable?

  • If so, give correction page.

If not, consult superviser immediately.

  • Gluing procedure completed (including necessary corrections)?

If not, consult superviser immediately.

Next-Day Inspection

  • All light guides firmly attached (no breaks in the glue)?
  • (Re-check) Light guide edges fit within module boundaries?
  • (Re-check) Glue joints acceptable and all excess glue removed?
