Run Coordinator report:2025run w11
The goal for week 11 was to continue taking production data.
During Maintenance day, the ECAL-FCAL prototype was moved into the hall. FCAL maintenance was also performed. The last thing done during Maintenance day was the repair of GluonRaid5. One of the themes of this week's activities was the improvement of the FDC's efficiency. While Lubomir and Alex are still working on it and monitoring the changes, we have seen a steady improvement in the efficiency. Another recurrent topic of discussion was the lower trigger count for the 135 deg polarization. Hovanes spent some time on this, which resulted in new AC positions (x=0.15,y=0.0) and a new alignment for the diamond radiator JD80-212 35/145. With this improvement, it was suggested to repeat this study but for the JD80-212 0/90 diamond.
During some opportunistic access, we have Kondo accessing the hall as well as Sasha. Sasha was able to correct some errors with the high voltage in the ECAL, but noticed that the LV also needed to be fixed. He scheduled that fix for the maintenance day at the end of my RC period. With the new ECAL fixes, we collected a production run at 100nA for Campton calibration.
One problem that was noticed this week was a hot channel in the ST. This led to the realization that we did not have ST thresholds in place. After the ST DSC thresholds were turned off, we saw a significant improvement for the hot channel. But there is still some work that needs to be done to properly iron things out with the ST. These symptoms are part of the issue that happened 2 years ago when the ST was taken out and re-inserted at a different angle than what was originally installed.
For next week, there are talks to run some harp scan studies that could improve the accuracy and speed, and there are talks to change the T-10 transformer, which is currently overheated. The work on the transformer will require the TAGC5C and the TSB5C to be powered off.
Our integrated trigger count at the end of this week is:
- Para 0/90: ~18.0 billion ---- 22.3%
- Perp 0/90: ~17.8 billion ---- 22.1%
- Para 45/135: ~18.6 billion ---- 23.1%
- Perp 45/135: ~17.2 billion ---- 21.4%
- Amorph: ~8.9 billion ---- 11.1%
