RC Report for April 12-18, 2018

We were scheduled for 147 hours of beam time and had 97.6h (66%) CW beam on target. We used 89.6h (61%) of this beam time. Most of the downtime was due to the DAQ and configuration changes. Roughly 1h of this time was lost due to a cable issue with the active collimator. We had an escorted access into the collimator cave to diagnose and fix this problem. Some beam time was also lost during the TAC run when the beam needed to be repositioned on the collimator.

Most of the time was spent on production running, where we continued the process of cycling through the four diamond orientations and two TPOL converters. Outside of production running, we performed a successful TAC run with no lock on the AC. We also began running on the thin diamond with the AC on 3.4mm collimator. For these runs, we ran with the 0/90 PARA/PERP orientations. These runs were still ongoing when Mark took over RC duties. In addition to these special runs, we were able to finish the low energy photon absorption studies. It was determined that 50um of W was the optimal shielding material.
