Wednesday, December 8

  1. Last 24h:
    • Continued C production running.
    • TAGH occupancy plot shows a few high channels from an FADC. Not a problem for the current data taking. Sasha will replace at next opportunity. [1]
    • gluonraid2 disk was full. Sergey made some space, and online calibrations started again. [2]
  2. Issues:
    • (urgent) Runs not being transferred fully from Hall D to central computing [3]
    • (to do) At next access opportunity, Sasha needs to replace an FADC in Tagger Hall.-contact Sasha
    • (to do) At next access opportunity, contact IT to replace the switch in the Tagger Hall.
    • (to do) At next access opportunity, Hall D techs need access to retrieve CPP equipment in the next week.-contact Mark Stevens
    • (to do) Coordinate with Chris and techs the changing of C target, include alignment. There's no scheduled RF recovery days, accelerator believes they can run through until the shutdown.
  3. Plan:
    • run on carbon at 150nA
    • Rotate the radiators and use both configurations
      • Stop the beam ALWAYS before changing the radiator configuration (even with the same radiator). Between radiator change (0/90 <--> 35/145) ALWAYS ask MCC to insert the dumplette.
    • Aligning the peak: Use coarse adjustment to align the distributions (red on blue) and then nudge/fine adjust to line up vertical line fit.
    • Save the shift log summary at the start of the shift and then update and save throughout the shift (helps everyone monitoring remotely to follow what is happening during the shift).
    • Sasha will take a raw data run and run some trigger rate scans.
  4. Analysis update
    • Analysis meetings from now until the end of run are MWF at 9:15.

Tuesday, December 7

  1. Last 24h:
    • Continued C production running. Few accelerator disruptions (2.5h swing) but otherwise smooth for us.
    • Amorphous run taken yesterday during the Day shift.
  2. Issues:
    • (urgent) TAGH occupancy for FADC looks off [4]. Maybe drift or constants not fully loaded?
    • (urgent) Runs not being transferred fully from Hall D to central computing [5]
    • (done) Ar tank replaced and bubbler filled [6].
    • (to do) At next access opportunity, contact IT to replace the switch in the Tagger Hall.
    • (to do) At next access opportunity, Hall D techs need access to retrieve CPP equipment in the next week.

  4. Analysis update
    • Analysis meetings from now until the end of run are MWF at 9:15.

Monday, December 6

  1. Last 24h:
    • Continued C production running. Smooth during day and swing.
    • Alarms for TAGM1 and TAGM2 d/c from DAQ [7]. Sergey made an access to tagger hall after unable to remotely recycle the crates. Determined to be a network problem. Problem mysteriously cleared before IT on-call from off-site could arrive [8].
  2. Issues:
    • (urgent) Right Ar tank empty and cylinder needs replacement.
    • (urgent) Runs not being transferred fully from Hall D to central computing [9]
    • (to do) At next access opportunity, contact IT to replace the switch in the Tagger Hall.
    • (not urgent but noted) Hall D techs need access to retrieve CPP equipment in the next week.
    • (to do) Coordinate with Chris and techs the changing of C target.
  3. Plan:
    • run on carbon at 150nA
    • Rotate the radiators and use both configurations

    • Aligning the peak: Use coarse adjustment to align the distributions (red on blue) and then nudge/fine adjust to line up vertical line fit.
    • Take an amorphous run today
    • Save the shift log summary at the start of the shift and then update and save throughout the shift (helps everyone monitoring remotely to follow what is happening during the shift).
    • Sasha will take a raw data run and run some trigger rate scans sometime this week.
  4. Analysis update
    • Analysis meetings from now until the end of run are MWF at 9:15.

Sunday, December 5

  1. Last 24h:
    • Continued C production running. Pretty smooth running throughout the day and overnight.
  2. Issues:
    • (urgent) Right Ar tank empty and cylinder needs replacement
    • (not urgent but noted) Hall D techs need access to retrieve CPP equipment in the next week.
    • (to do) Coordinate with Chris and techs the changing of C target.

    • Aligning the peak: Use coarse adjustment to align the distributions (red on blue) and then nudge/fine adjust to line up vertical line fit.
    • No Hall D RC meeting over the weekend. I will send updates by e-mail. Meeting with the PD at 9am both days.

Saturday, December 4

  1. Last 24h:
    • Continued C production running. Took amorphous run yesterday evening, run 90382 [10]
    • This morning had an issue with an FCAL FADC. Indication also from livetime at 5% [11], [12]. Sasha made a controlled access and swapped in a new FADC [13].

Friday, December 3

  1. Last 24h:
    • Tried re-tuning the beam yesterday (reducing MQP5C11). Resulted in lower PS rates (~2.8 kHz) consistent with what was observed previously when we tried this. See: [14],[15]
    • After reverting to optics before the change, PS rates back up (~3.3 kHz). See: [16],[17]
    • Hovanes performed collimator scan [18]
    • Continued C production running overnight.
