Minutes

Attending: Carl, Chris, Jim, Fernando, Elton, Jack, Yi, Chuck

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Schedule, reporting, and manpower (Elton)
  4. SiPM testing (everyone)
    1. Note: Receipt of first 500 production SiPMs are expected tomorrow.
    2. Light source / optics
      • LEDs in hand, pulser being ordered, optic components on webstock
      • Yi asked about how the temperature will be monitored: RTDs from omega will be used. Decided to order two readout modules.
    3. Electronic boards
      • No update
    4. Cabling
      • connectors in hand, cables ordered
    5. Cooling plate
    6. Other?
  5. Mechanical (Jim)
    • Jim had some drawings to show how the interface to the Bcal monitoring boards would be made. We will iterate, as Athens will propose connectors that match their design.
    • Two versions of the final module setup will be complete tomorrow, the new one supports the addition of one layer on the Bcal.
    • Scott Spiegel will be working with Jim on the procedures for gluing the light guides.
  6. Mechanical drawings (Chuck)
    • Three of the most complicated mechanical boards are complete, a fourth is in progress
    • Still need 3-4 more, which are simpler. Once complete, we will review them and put them out for fabrication.
  7. Geometry (Elton)
    • Light guide procurement is in process. Response to RFPs are due in mid month.
  8. Temperature compensation (Jack)
    • Problem see in earlier data, which showed the sensor output instability at the couple of percent level was investigated. Elements were isolated and fingers are pointing at the LED stability (although the LED should be in a relatively stable temperature environment).
    • Carl will investigate the LED stability. If confirmed, the design can be move forward
    • Tentatively set a date of Sep 29 for the bias review: goal to bless the use of 4 resistor binary skim scheme and their values, and final circuit.
  9. Preamp-summing (Fernando)
    • Chris is pricing the U boards: The cost of 4000 bare boards is $1560 (3 week turnaround). The budget estimate for populating the boards (especially with individual pins) is in progress.
  10. Granularity (Elton)
