Action Items from previous meetings

  1. Investigate whether there is sufficient room to add an additional layer to the electronics at the inside of the Bcal (Fernando). Fernando has been able to lay out the board with the 1-2-3-4 configuration.
  2. Carl to check instability of LED (as a possible contributor to sensor output changes) (Carl)
  3. Bias/temperature compensation review: Tentatively set for Sep 29. Fernando will be out of the country till October and Oct 6 is the collaboration meeting, so we will plan for Oct 13.

Minutes

Attending: Fernando, Carl, Chuck, Jim, Yi, Elton, Ivan

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Schedule, reporting, and manpower (Elton)
  4. SiPM testing (everyone)
    1. Light source / optics
      • Materials in hand, will start assembly next week
    2. Electronic boards
      • Chris will continue to work on these when he returns next week.
    3. Cabling
    4. Cooling plate
      • Cooling plate dimensions discussed with Chris and drawings signed. Can go out for fabrication.
      • Scott has been assigned as the mechanical technical support for this project.
    5. Other?
  5. Discussion of Hamamatsu visit tomorrow
  6. Mechanical (Jim)
    • Iterating with Fernando on the locations of hole for standoffs, which should be resolved as soon as files are properly transfered/read.
  7. Mechanical drawings (Chuck)
    • Small update to light guide drawings were implemented based on questions from vendors.
  8. Geometry (Elton)
  9. Temperature compensation (Jack)
  10. Preamp-summing (Fernando)
    • Fernando has placed all schematics and associated files onto the Hall D electronics directories on the group drive, which have controlled access. Jack and Jim can access them from there.
    • Chris has received the cost for assembly of the U board and it has come in considerably under initial expectations. (Yeah!)
  11. Granularity (Elton)
    • GlueX collaboration would like to incorporate the additional layer into the readout. With the end-of-year budgets and the Lehman review in October, no formal action will come from the project till November. For now, we will assume the preamp/sum boards will have the additional layer and no more work will be done on the previous option. If necessary, we could leave some of the readout electronics off the project and add later.
  12. SiPM Test Stand (Ivan)
    • Test setup in F117 is nearly ready. Still waiting on procurement of pulser. Also a power supply will be needed for the bias. Carl has a supply but Yi says it is not working properly. We may need to purchase another power supply.
