Minutes

Attending: Jack, Chris, Chuck, Jim, Ivan, Elton, Carl, Yi

  1. Announcements
  2. Action Items
  3. Schedule, reporting, and manpower (Elton)
  4. SiPM testing
    • Two samples have been tested, one from the beginning of the run and one from the end. They also have different operating voltages. No differences compared to first article
    • Jack and Carl will review Hamamatsu data sheets, pick out another couple of samples to check against specs.
    1. Light source / optics
      • all components in hand and moving to EEL 126
    2. Electronic boards
      • Connector boards for cabling done, but need iteration due to flipped connector
      • Question about grounding of 4 preamp boards. Jack suggested to use a common ground. Chris will go forward with this.
    3. Cabling
      • Cables are in
    4. Cooling plate
      • Iteration with Chris on the location of through holes, which has been resolved. Cooling plate will go to shop tomorrow.
    5. Other?
  5. Mechanical (Jim)
    • Location of holes in plate have been iterated with Chris and drawings can now be made.
  6. Mechanical drawings (Chuck)
    • Many drawings complete. Remaining drawings have been waiting final details but can now proceed.
  7. Geometry (Elton)
  8. Temperature compensation (Jack)
    • Reviewing components. In particular the connector for the thermistor has not finalized. Discussion brought up the possibility of adding a thin PC board and a coax cable. This option will be checked further.
    • Need to check HV rating of coax cable. Needs to hold at least 80 V.
    • Jack has found that special runs for thermistor with better tolerance can be made at nominal cost. This will be useful.
  9. Preamp-summing (Fernando)
  10. Granularity (Elton)
  11. SiPM timing tests (Ivan)
    • All equipment is in place, except for the generator, which is expected by mid Oct.
    • Will start working on the DAQ next week
    • When generator arrives, he will start testing timing using 2 LEDs.
