- Previous CPP meeting: Mar 23, 2022
- Previous CPP Software meeting: Π polarizability Software Meeting Mar 17, 2022
- Announcements
- Action Items
- No progress on replaying random trigger data from December to check firmware
- CPP-NPP trigger (Ilya)
- TOF pmt gains should be adjusted before the run (Beni). Peaks are nominally set to 700 counts above baseline (~100 counts)
- Scale is 500 mV = 4095 counts (baseline is about 100 counts)
- Ilya: Need to adjust thresholds for trigger.
- Ilya: Will present rate dependence of gains next meeting.
- Draft Proposal (Ilya)
- Proposal was presented and questions answered. The precise mechanics of adjusting the frame need to be understood. Will check with Tim at next Design meeting.
- Rory: Need a scale; perhaps a caliper and level to help adjustment.
- CPP and NPP Run Conditions
- Simon: Information about beam conditions sent to Pavel Degtiarenko so that he can prepare the RSAD.
- Elton: Modify ESAD with information about the muon detector. Will get feedback from Ed Folts.
- Photon beam / tagger / diamonds
- Elton: Initial table of microscope energy assignment has been made and will update ccdb.
- In the use of the BH files (generated with Beam = 12 GeV) there is an inconsistency generated when reconstructing for a specific run number. Will get a best guess for the beam energy this summer for use in simulations.
- Reinstallation of plate 7 with hodoscope counters in the present location of the microscope has some interference issues.
- At the moment, the plate can be mounted about 2 cm above the nominal position. It needs to come down about 1 cm.
- Tim is working on a solution to modify outer covers of the hodoscope scintillators without affecting their performance. If this option is not totally successful, we may have to run without a few counters. (He promised a log entry with this information).
- Software/Calibration (David)
- Meeting tomorrow
- Rory: Responded to David's request for online histograms. More feedback is welcome.
- MWPC Testing
- CPP and NPP Experiment Configuration
- DAQ and Electronic Setup
- Sergey: MWPC crate is operational, but needs fiber connection to be integrated into larger system.
- Beni: LV and HV installed on chambers. Gas is now flowing.
- Need to synchronize the +/- LV channels during ramp up. Hovanes will add a single button to turn both on at the same time
- All horizontal chambers have been tested. One signal (chamber 3, channel #7) has an odd shape, perhaps a reflection. Rory will take a look at log entry
- Signal cables: Crimping tool from JLab has been lent to the vendor. Expect first six cables in about a week. Should receive first samples to check.
- Noise: Beni finds that noise is reduced if the signal connector is grounded to the casing. Working on finding a practical method for this connection.
- Rory: The lack of connection between connector and casing was intentional, following advice from Fernando.
- Other business
