To-do list
- Wiring
- remove jumper box and cables and bring to F117 for rework - done
- remove current-limiting resistor boxes, bring to F117 for rework - done
- minimize summed coil voltage readouts, do most sums in PLC - done
- add separate readouts of splice and vapor-cooled lead voltages - done
- combine splice and lead into one hardware quench/overvoltage protection channel using Newport controller - done
- match and balance all current-limiting resistors, go back to original 100k Ohm matched resistors - done
- read out voltage taps for quench detection and DAQ using separate resistor chain - done
- update wiring diagrams to "as built" - done
- get diagrams and spec sheets to Fernando - done
- understand signal clipping and interaction between readout modules, test and replace if necessary
- minimize noise
- Danfysik power supply
- understand ramp-down mechanism - done
- measure fast dump resistors in power supply - done
- eliminate 2V DC offset - done
- fix slow dump - done
- implement ground fault detection compatible with quench detector
- make more copies of full Danfysik power supply manual (get from Steve L) - done
- Danfysik quench detector
- match and balance resistors - done
- install test points for gain/offset tuning - done
- install pots for balance - done
- install bias circuit if unable to eliminate Danfysik DC offset - done
- doesn't appear to be needed since offset problem solved, but we did it for one channel anyway
- Dataforth system
- Correct for 2M Ohm internal impedance and 200k Ohm resistors in voltage tap readouts - done
- USB device
- install voltage dividers to extend voltage range
- add resistors to Zener protection circuit
- automated elog entries
- automatically dump screens to files
- create perl script
- create cron job
- A-B HMI improvements
- get additional HMI client license from Steve
- get second HMI computer working - done
- implement A-B license server - done
- get A-B IIS file server system working - done
- upgrade to 100 screen license if needed
- change HMI database to MySql - done
- create more pre-defined trend plots - done
- improve screens
- A-B PLC program improvements
- new channels - done
- improve, simplify program - done
- use custom instructions to simplify code
- try A-B alarm and logging systems - done
- EPICS
- serve out all PLC channels to CA
- need list from Josh
- implement guard shack notification for IOC hang/crash
- serve out all PLC channels to CA
For the hall
- note that max ramp rate in the hall is approximately 10V / 20H = 0.5 A/sec
- should we install a UPS on the Danfysik contactor and control boards?
- do we need additional valves, check valves, bypasses, whatever?
- do we need Dataforth voltage attenuators on coil tap channels?
- do we need active isolation of coil tap channels, etc?
Basic questions
- lag between field and current...are there turn-to-turn shorts in coil 1?
- maybe short, maybe eddy currents...
- will we open up coil 3 and/or coil 4?
- do we want an independent review of our fast (and slow) dump strategy and system?
- document our experience!
