Loose ends from the run in Spring 2017
- Communication issues (missing acknowledgments) between TI and TD
- - new firmware for TI (tip76) provided by William
- (installed on FCAL crates)
- - new firmware for TD (tdp 73), includes some debugging features
- - initially tested at high rate, have to continue with more tests
- F1TDC initialization issues (32 ns time shift)
- - reproduced using the test stand (Ed)
- trying to reproduce/fix using BCAL cosmic trigger (work in progress)
- Calibration constants for fadc250 (new firmware)
- - new code for the clock distribution (Ben), has been implemented and being
- tested by Hai and Ed (so far successfully)
- - additional ADC code will be provided by Ben shortly
- - when ready, the new version will be tested using a single crate setup
- (consider to install on some Hall-D crates, if successfully tested)
- Performance of CAEN TDCs at high rate
- - slows down readout at high trigger rate (R > 70 kHz)
- we don't expect to run at these rates during Fall 2017/ Spring 2018
- - prepared setup for testing (TOF/Trigger crates)
Other topics
- Implementing SSP (GTP) readout (Ben)
- - Ben is working on the new version of SSP now
- - waiting for the VME readout function from Brian
- Further optimization of the L1 algorithm for high-lumi runs
- TOF trigger
- - already implemented (FDC alignment, hi-pt meson production)
- - may require some modification (specs, Iliya)
- - test with Play Back, and beam tests
- F1TDC firmware modification
- - (suppression headers)
- L1 trigger simulation
- - version 0 of the simulation is available
- - implement corrections in Geant for MIPs and hadronic showers
- initial implementation in the simulation (v1)
