Additions to Standard Equipment
The major modifications required to operate the experiment are the following
- Design, fabrication and installation of the muon detector
- Multi-wire proportional chambers
- Modifications to the downstream platform, support structure and iron absorbers
- New (mono-isotopic) solid Pb target
- Charged-particle trigger based on the time-of-flight detectors
Platform Design
Trigger Discussion
Discussion topics with Sasha and Hai
- CPP / NPP plan is to run multiple TOF configuration files + FCAL trigger with possibly a lower threshold.
- Confirm that no new firmware is needed for the TOF, i.e. modifications for TOF only need different configuration files
- We would like to run the TOF trigger with multiple configuration files plus the FCAL trigger
