- Info from Beni and Cody: JTAG cable was connected (as proposed by Sergey) to the last module of crate FDC9 and chipscope installed on one of the FPGAs (the processor one). Thus, they were able to capture the problem and analyze the signals when the module didn't report data. So far, one thing is sure, the module does receive a trigger but at some point one FPGA doesn't transmit data to the next one. The plan is now to install chipscope on all FPGAs. After the problem appears even the reset doesn't help indicating is a hardware problem.

- Beni: CDC+FDC DAQ modules have been moved to the top trigger crate where the GTP is. Sasha is ready with the BCAL trigger, but there's more work to be able to read the CDC+FDC+BCAL. The plan is to use again scintillator trigger over the weekend without moving the trigger modules back to the bottom crate. Beni is working on interface between the data base parameters and the Sasha's initialization files.

- After the meeting Sergey and Cody informed me that the problem is that the 80MHz clock sometimes doesn't come to one of the FPGAs, indicating most likely bad soldering that changes with the temperature. The plan now is to reduce the board frequency to 40MHz.

- Lubomir looked at the runs with mode 8, where you have both raw and processed data. In the figures linked above we compare the processed data with the one obtained from raw data, by simulating the firmware offline. There's agreement for the pedestal calculation, but not for the peak value and the timing. Later it turned out f125 is reporting up to two peaks, while offline is looking at the first peak only. So far it is not clear which are the two peaks in their order, since the max number of peaks was set to 4. Cody will look into this. Another problems is that for certain channels (most in ROCFDC2) we see the pedestals equal to zero. It turns out this is a feature of the firmware when the pedestal is bigger than the peak value.

- Nick: One CAEN HV module in the CDC has been replaced. In the moment we have 3 spares. The hardware limits for the modules should be written somewhere on wiki, to be used when replacing modules (actually they are recorded in the archiver).

- Dave is implementing reading temperature and humidity in the Hall, also transmitting the FDC pressure differences as a new type epics variable.

- Mike: 2-3 3M connectors should be fixed. Other than that a few channels have problems. Single channel HV modules Bertan type, with sensitive current reading,  will be used for 2-3 channels to help the beam alignment. They will have to be turned on before the start of the beam alignment and will read the current with a camera.

- Vald reported, we don't see signal from one wire. After the meeting Nick and Lubomir checked the signals with a pulser (applied on the pre-amp input): there were signals visible, but the signal on this channel weaker than the rest. Most likely the pre-amp connector doesn't seat well. Vlad is analyzing different runs to figure out when the channels stopped working.

- Vald made presentation (attached) about the strip gain calibration. You use the fact that the sum of the charge on the down strips is the same as on the upper strips. Another more important fact is that  we know the shape of the charge distribution over the strips.  Vlad presented results for the calibration coefficients of the third package as tested in EEL126. The gain varies by about +/-15%, smaller fraction of the variation should come from the electronics (Fernando).

- Bill: The chiller will be send in January to mid-March for fixing to the company. They will replace the compressor, fix the low level switch, and test it, all for free. Eugene: we will need it mid-March for the next run.

- Simon and Lubomir presented their proposals for monitoring histograms. After some discussions, we agreed to have profiles of the wires and strips for each cell and package. Possibly, later, we can put the same information in 2D plots. We will also have the drift time spectra for each cell.

DAQ and electronics

- Info from Beni and Cody: JTAG cable was connected (as proposed by Sergey) to the last module of crate FDC9 and chipscope installed on one of the FPGAs (the processor one). Thus, they were able to capture the problem and analyze the signals when the module didn't report data. So far, one thing is sure, the module does receive a trigger but at some point one FPGA doesn't transmit data to the next one. The plan is now to install chipscope on all FPGAs. After the problem appears even the reset doesn't help indicating is a hardware problem.

- After the meeting Sergey and Cody informed me that the problem is that the 80MHz clock sometimes doesn't come to one of the FPGAs, indicating most likely bad soldering that changes with the temperature. The plan now is to reduce the board frequency to 40MHz.

- The gas panel in the Hall was connected to UPS.

CDC update

- Mike is working on the efficiency plots, also charge vs track length, to be used for gain calibration.

- The Bertan modules (supplying HV to two cards) will be left ON before the start of the beam alignment with a thresholds of 1 uA.

FDC update

- Vald made presentation (attached) about the strip gain calibration. You use the fact that the sum of the charge on the down strips is the same as on the upper strips. Another more important fact is that we know the shape of the charge distribution over the strips. Vlad presented results for the calibration coefficients of the third package as tested in EEL126. The gain varies by about +/-15%, smaller fraction of the variation should come from the electronics (Fernando).

Commissioning

- Simon and Lubomir presented their proposals for monitoring histograms. After some discussions, we agreed to have profiles of the wires and strips for each cell and package. Possibly, later, we can put the same information in 2D plots. We will also have the drift time spectra for each cell.
