A simulation was designed to investigate the apparent low event rates in the south side modules of the GlueX Barrel Calorimeter in Hall D. Using the geometry of the BCAL and scintillating trigger panels, a monte carlo simulation was used to compare the data observed to the physical data. Analysis of the comparison concluded that the north side crates are functioning correctly, while the south side crates have a currently unresolved issue, resulting in very low event rates.
