Tune Electron Beam

  1. Expected duration: Approximately a few days.
  2. Goal: Get electron beam to the dump in the tagger hall with acceptable radiation levels.
  3. Responsibility: Main: Accelerator, support: HallD, RadCon.
  4. Priority: High
  5. Conditions:
    • Tagger hall equipment removed. This includes the microscope (TAGM) and the electronics.
    • Hall D controlled quadrupoles turned off.
    • Initially [pulsed beam] will be used, then CW beam.
    • No radiator installed.
    • Collimator blocks the photon beamline to Hall D.
    • Backsplash detector (if available) installed at entrance of collimator cave.
  6. Activities:
    • Tune beam to the dump, check the beam specifications (accelerator).
    • Check radiation levels in the tagger hall (Hall D/RadCon).
    • Check for photons (with backsplash detector) and radiation levels in the collimator cave (Hall D/RadCon).
