Minutes
Attending: Andrew, Beni, David H., David L., Elton, Nikhil, Rory, Sergey, Simon
- Previous CPP meeting: Nov 3, 2021
- Announcements
- Action Items
- Keynote Speaker: Systematic Study of Polarization Determination with BH (Andrew)
- Andrew presented a plan to study systematic uncertainties in the determination of the polarization using BH electron pairs
- Andrew: Possibly choose the range of m_pipi mass over which different polarization orientations agree and compare to full analysis.
- Can also compare the results of individual polarization orientations with sum of all (where acceptances seem to cancel).
- Use different AI tools and compare with current analysis
- David: May depend on accuracy of model.
- Another option is to take different sample sets (e.g. 80% for training and 20% for validation) and check differences of output
- Elton: Vary cuts used in analysis and check how sensitive the polarization extraction is to a particular cut
- Software/Calibration for CPP (David, Alex and Sean)
- AI for Experimental Controls testing during CPP
- DAQ Configuration (Sergey)
- What specific crate and roc to use?
- We probably wish to leave the CDC crate on the upstream platform and use a new (spare) crate.
- Sergey suggests to not use the cdc roc, which has a unique name. Elton: We should implement a configuration that is easy for the DAQ. Sergey will look for the roc that was used during the FMWPC test in the hall. If not he will configure a new one.
- MWPC Testing
- FMWPC Log Book
- Elton has coordinated with Chris and Nick for identifying the connections to the electronics.
- Chris has a prototype of the LV box with two output cables that can provide +/-5V to the MWPCs.
- CPP and NPP Experiment Configuration
- Slow Controls (Beni)
- hdgeant4 updates (Mark)
- CPP Analysis (Simon)
- There are several software updates for CPP in various repositories that should be consolidated.
- Simon is willing to coordinate the pull requests; he has several himself
- Simon has implemented the sensitive volumes for the CPP scintillators into hdgeant4
- Simon and Richard: Propagation of tracks in the MC behind the calorimeters needs hooks in control.in. Richard will present a plan for implementing this.
- GlueX Data Analysis
- CPP Simulations (David)
- We need samples of mu+mu- and pi+pi- samples, which can be used for various studies. We should have them in a central location for ease of access.
- Andrew can generate mu+mu- events with the Rory's event generator
- The pi+pi- pairs can be generated with gen_2pi_primakof.
- PID + AI
- Other business
