From GlueXWiki
Meeting time and location:
- 9:30 am EST (JLab time) remote only
- Zoom meeting ID: 161 050 9142 Passcode: 004965
Agenda
- Preparation of parts for FCAL2 modules -- Sasha
- Received all 150 CRYTUR crystals from physics division (22-C0275) [1]
- Expect to receive 95 more CRYTUR crystals in May (835 + 95 = 930 in total)
- Wrapped CRYTUR crystals: 835 (ALL available CRYTUR)
- Disassembling CCAL
- CCAL moved to the ESB
- All modules (with SICCAS crystals) are removed
- List of available parts
- Some PMT housing are missing ( > 60, trying to find with Tim)
- Received all 150 CRYTUR crystals from physics division (22-C0275) [1]
- Module fabrication -- Sasha
- Fabricated modules: Total 1420 (7 modules fabricated since last week)
- Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Arshak
- Most parts for dividers have been received
- 25 dividers for the prototype are ready (have to be tested), expect to receive the LV patch panel prototype
during next week. The CCAL prototype should be ready by the end of next week (?)
- Installation of the FCAL2 detector -- Sasha / Arshak
- Detector installation page
- Updates from the meetings with Tim's group
- Manpower and division of tasks
- Projects for summer students
- Meeting with the detector imaging group
- Light Monitoring System -- Arshak
- Simulations/Analysis
- Discussion on extension/high intensity running for JEF
Minutes
Attendees: Zisis, Sasha, Bill, Tim W., Liping, Arshak, Olga, Igor, Malte, Igal, Eugene, Jane, S.T.
- All of the COMCAL modules have been unwrapped and are ready to convert to FCAL-2 modules
- PMT housings still missing -- need about 60 (40 + spares)
- Shelf space reorganization in the works -- need enough for temporary storage in hall before stacking
- Received 25 new dividers from Chris S. + ribbon cables for LV
- Constructed 5x5 module array + LV patch panel, ready for installation in hall
- Cooling plates: checking for water leaks
- Arshak continuing studies with 500 micron fibers -- has bundle of 64 fibers, testing in groups of 12-14
- Generally uniformity is good (<20% variation in light intensity ) but had a few outliers
- Need to make decision: plexiglas (cheaper but with potential cross talk issues) and fibers to each module
- Lemo connectors have arrived
- Grand total fabricated modules remains at 1420
- Will have ~10 students helping out in the summer
- Simon gave a brief update on 2π0 background studies, will give talk on software/analysis at collaboration meeting
- Need to make FCAL-2 geometry in reconstruction/simulation more realistic
- Island vs default cluster algorithm
- Igal working on ML (boosted decision tree in TMVA) to suppress background in η→π0γγ
- Discussed running JEF with GlueX-III at higher intensity
- Need to understand increased background (simulate at higher rate)
- Need higher trigger threshold (will not work for η→π0π+π- channel)
- Gain experience with real FCAL-2 next year, then consider JEF extension?
