Minutes
Attendees: Bill,Sasha,Igal,Zisis,Arshak,Tegan,Liping,Jane,Jon,Azizah,Olga,Phil,S.T.
- Igal gave an update on η→π0γγ
- Currently using default algorithm for analysis while we work on improving the island algorithm
- Included 2π0 background but most of the background after all cuts are applied is due to η→3π0 and η→2γ
- Should also include other hadronic backgrounds Sasha included in original simulation for proposal
- Extracted limit for B→π0γ using FCAL-2
- Used +/-2.5σ mass window
- Found worse limit by about an order of magnitude compared to proposal, but should recheck using criteria Liping used
- For island algorithm would like to compare shower profile for insert to result of snake scan (real data from December 2019)
- Need to take into account size of beam
- Module fabrication continues with great assistance from undergraduates
- Students working wrapping crystals, ESR jigs, etc. -- Brandyn gave a short update on their activities
- We are still short ~180 crystals
- Grand total up to 598 fabricated modules, 37 of which are CRYTUR crystals
- Still have quality control issues with brazing of straps
- Waiting for mu-metal, but no obvious bottlenecks right now (have enough mu-metal for 1 month of work)
- Have additional 3D printed jigs for gluing light guides
- Arshak gave an update on LMS development
- Integrating sphere has arrived
- Received 200 feat of fiber
- To address issue of uniformity of light output over extent of plexiglas, tried reflective paint on edges and coating one side of plexiglas with gortex reflective material on small prototype
- Looks more uniform but needs to be repeated with full scale prototype
