Calibrations
Minutes
Attendees: Mac, Zisis, Sasha, Hakob, Liping, Jane, Drew, Axel, Olga, Igal, Bill, S.T.
- Everything for LMS system in place
- Light source and alpha source in trigger
- Used LMS to check detector, found a few problematic channels in ECAL --> fixed loose connections
- Some channels have funny waveforms, some have low amplitudes (likely due to fibers)
- Amplification on on 1 ECAL channel fluctuating -> swapped divider, now fixed
- Found distribution board problem -> reroute to spare channel
- Temperature trip due to fan not being in same place as before?
- Progress on small scale prototype
- Verified 5x5 PWO + 5x4 lead glass will fit inside COMCAL box
- Have 2 chillers that can be used to maintain temperature and study temperature dependence
- Will move effort to EEL126, testing using LED setup in EEL118
- Lead glass modules will be provided by Malte
- Plan for test in PS arm in summer
- Commissioning plan
- Start with voltages set from cosmic runs
- Set up trigger starting with sub-detectors, run at small flux and low thresholds
- Use Compton events to tune ECAL voltages near beam line
- Adjust channels to same scale in FADC
- Will ID bad channels in lead glass region to exclude
- Use π0 events to refine
