- Updates-- ig
- Workshops/external meetings
- DNP 2022 fall meeting: DNP 2022 web site
- Proposal for workshop submitted to ECT* (https://www.ectstar.eu/)
- Workshop title: Probing Low-Energy QCD, Fundamental Symmetry and BSM Physics with Light Meson Decays
- Desired date: June 2023
Minutes
Attendees: Bill, Zisis, Sasha, Arshak, Igal, Tegan, Susan, Jon, Tim B., Phil, Jane, Olga, Axel, S.T.
- 3 students from GWU/NOVA on site
- Checking quality of replacement SICCAS crystals from NPS
- Lookin for color, bubbles, cracks, chips
- Checking dimensions: found 1 outlier (300 microns smaller than nominal)
- Wrapping crystals (32 as of meeting time)
- Cutting ESR
- Checking quality of replacement SICCAS crystals from NPS
- Expect 3 students from UNCW June 1 and 3 students from Lamar mid-June
- All students need to take special undergraduate training
- Detector support group still working on wrapping and ESR preshaping
- Grand total of fabricated modules = 433
- Arshak gave a preview of his talk for collaboration meeting next week on LMS
- Highlighted plot of light intensity as a function of position along plexiglas: high intensity near edges
- PMT divider effort: waiting for procurement of components; still plan for fabrication in summer
- Igal gave an update on η→π0γγ analysis for simulated FCAL-2 events
- Backgrounds from 3π0 and γγ channels
- Default cluster algorithm + cuts: no obvious signal seen
- Also no difference between 2 algorithms and center-of-gravity vs log-weighted positions
- Looked at thrown distances between clusters
- Starts to see more obvious signal peak when he applies a cut on the separation between the π0 and the bacheler γs from the signal channel
- no TOF veto applied
- Separation between close clusters < 15 cm with island algorithm does not agree with thrown separation
- ECT* proposal has been submitted
