Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for FCAL2 modules -- Sasha
    • Crystals:
Received 30 crystals from CRYTUR [1]. Remaining 65 crystals will be sent to us during this and next month.
Wrapped crystals ready for fabrication (Mindy): 26 SICCAS and 5 CRYTUR = 31
      Available for wrapping: 10 SICCAS + 28 CRYTUR = 38
    • George (DSG group) preshaped 96 ESR reflectors; finished with preshaping.
    • More than 200 long signal cables received, can start checking, bundling, labeling
    • Procurement parts for the LMS
Ordered 16,000 + 8,000 = 24,000 ft of optical fibers. Expect that the first batch will be delivered in May.
Ordered 18000 of polycarbonate donats. Will be available in 3 - 4 weeks.
  • Module fabrication -- Sasha
    • Fabricated modules: Total 1487
      Available for fabrication: 31
First summer students (Madison and Madelyn) are in the Lab. They fabricated 26 modules using 'low quality' crystals for the stacking mockup and 'crunch' tests. We have a total of low-quality crystals for 42 test modules.
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / Arshak
    • FCAL2 modules with dividers installed on the CCAL [2]
    • Met with Vlad P. on Tuesday. Fine tuned the divider circuit. Checking/tuning an amplifier; Chris S. ordered some OPS.
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Arshak
Discussion of the FCAL2 installation procedures [4]
  • Preparation of parts for FCAL2 modules -- Sasha
  • Module fabrication -- Sasha
  • PMT divider updates
  • Light Monitoring System -- Arshak
  • Simulations/Analysis
  • GUINEAPIG Workshop?

Minutes

Attendees: Igor, Igal, Olga, Zisis, Arshak, Sasha, Liping, Eugene, Madison, Madelyn, Bill, Jon, Malte, Stjepan, Phil, Jane, S.T.

  • Received 30/95 Crytur crystals (~40/month production rate)
  • 26 SICCAS + 5 Crytur wrapped, ready for fabrication
  • QA on crystals from COMCAL: 10 good ones can be used for spares + 28 available for wrapping
  • 96 ESR reflectors pre-shaped ready for Crytur crystals + have enough reflective material for SICCAS (slightly different dimensions)
  • Signal cables arriving in lab
  • Consider buying cable labeling machine (need ~12k labels!)
  • Patch panel layout for HV distribution done for 36 HV units with 48 channels/connector
  • Translation table ready to go, but needs to go into ccdb
  • Need to order cables for inside dark box
  • 24k feet of optical fiber ordered
  • Grand total fabricated modules remains at 1487
  • Madison + Madelyn working on fabricating dummy modules using low quality crystals for use in stacking test
  • PMT divider design converging, some reshuffling of resistors enabled raising operational high voltage, change in op-amp for amplifier -> new op-amps ordered for testing
    • Otherwise have all parts in lab
    • Outsource PCB fabrication -> 3-4 week lead-time
    • Aim for mid-June first batch of dividers, need testing
  • Arshak setting up black box for module testing (ideally test every module)
    • Use actual crate+cables to be used in hall
    • Second box?
  • Hovanes working on slow controls for insert
  • Lead glass unstacking in hall continues
    • Blocks sorted according to quality (some modules need to be refurbished)
    • Restacking to start July 10
  • Igal met with head of data science department: will get Daniel L. involved with ML effort
