Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - HV long cable, 18 ready (out of 36), discussion with the DSG group regarding help
    • - HV distribution boards: has not yet been designed, need 4 boards
    • - LV cables: missing about 20 cables, waiting for the last delivery batch.
    • - LV distribution boards [1]. One board out of 4 is ready, using for testing dividers Media:lv_distribution.jpg
    • - LED: prototype board is ready, have to start testing
  • Ongoing projects - All
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / George / Mindy
    • - File:Regulators.xlsx Map of dividers with removed regulators
    • - Testing procedure [2]
    • - All dividers have been fabricated and tested by George [3]
      • Continue removing regulators from the PCB (about 70 regulators have been removed, require re-testing dividers)
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob / Laveen
    • Report from students [4]
    • Installation and testing cables and dividers [5]
    • Installation of signal patch panels [6][7]

    • Installation of optical fibers [10]
    • Detector installation page
  • Summer students -- Sasha
    • - Olivia, Ben, and Shane are on site. Expect one student from Wuhan (have to start with the paperwork)
    • - Projects: document all test results, assist with the cable/divider installation, install signal cables on patch panel, work on the ECAL monitoring plots
  • Beam tests with the PS
      • measure shower beam profile and reconstruction in the crystal/LG transition region
      • (install prototype with 5x5 PbWO4 modules + ? LG)
  • Other hardware projects
    • prototype of the ECAL veto counter (?)

Minutes

Attendees: Hakob, Sasha, Vlad, Zisis, Laveen, Igal, Ben, Olivia, Shane, Liping, Lesa, and Axel

  • Mindy from the detector support group is working on installing multi-pin connectors to HV cables. 19 cables (out of 36) are ready
  • We started connecting long signal cables coming from VXS crates to the signal patch panel positioned on the bottom of the detector. Four vertical cable trays and two horizontal ones for the bottom part of the detector were installed by the tech crew. We have connected 160 signal cables to the patch panel.
  • We have installed optical fibers (required for the trigger distribution) between two optical patch panels (D1-2 and D1-3) and modules in VXS crates. Each crate requires

two connections, one to the TI module and the other one to the VTP. Optical fibers were also installed between the trigger patch panel and trigger modules (TD and SSP). All optical fibers were labeled.

  • Chris S. received 5 boxes for LV distribution boards. A PCB with 400 LV connectors will be placed inside each box, which will be installed on the detector frame.

Chris has started soldering connectors to the PCBs; we need 4 PCBs.

  • A PCB for the LMS is ready, Chris is waiting for the feedback from Fernando
  • A terminal server is installed on the ECAL downstream rack
  • We consider to submit two abstracts to the DNP meeting: Laveen will present the JEF experiment and the students will give an overview of the commissioning of the ECAL.
