Meeting time and location:

Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - HV long cable, 25 ready (out of 36), discussion with the DSG group regarding help (Sammy and Mindy)
    • - HV distribution boards: has not yet been designed, need 4 boards (meeting with Scot/Tim regarding installation during next week)
    • - LED: prototype board is ready, have to start testing
  • Ongoing projects - All
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / George / Mindy
    • - File:Regulators.xlsx Map of dividers with removed regulators
    • - Testing procedure [1]
    • - All dividers have been fabricated and tested by George [2]
      • Continue removing regulators from the PCB (about 70 regulators have been removed, require re-testing dividers)
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob / Laveen
  • Summer students -- Sasha
    • - Olivia, Ben, and Shane are on site. Expect one student from Wuhan (have to start with the paperwork)
    • - Projects: document all test results, assist with the cable/divider installation, install signal cables on patch panel, work on the ECAL monitoring plots
  • Beam tests with the PS
      • measure shower beam profile and reconstruction in the crystal/LG transition region
      • (install prototype with 5x5 PbWO4 modules + ? LG)
  • Other hardware projects
    • prototype of the ECAL veto counter (?)
  • FCAL2 posters for open house** File:1-OH24-Poster-H-Laveen-revised4.pdf
  • Abstracts for the DNP meeting and proceedings of the CALOR24 conference [9][10] [11]
  • Analysis/Simulation

Minutes

Attendees: Bill, Laveen Sasha, Axel, Vlad, Zisis, S.T.

  • Paperwork for Wuhan student in progress, expect student to come late September
  • New tech working on ECAL project (hv cables)
  • Progress on hv distribution board: final layout
  • LED driver board prepared, to be attached on integrating sphere for LMS
  • UMass student working on spreadsheet containing divider test results, started by Olivia
  • All long signal cables attached to patch panels
  • PMT divider installation for upper half starting, plan to test one layer at a time
  • 2 abstracts planned for IEEE conference (SiPM prototype, radiation hardness of active PMT base)
  • Simon showed latest 2 photon separation studies with MC
    • Removed all material except for BCAL+FCAL
    • Efficiency for reconstruction 2 photons with large separation in insert ~100%, but still only ~90% in lead glass
      • Some 3 cluster events in lead glass region have 3 distinct cluster as opposed to false splitoffs due to cluster algorithm, but cannot account for full 10% drop for large separations.
