Meeting time and location:

Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - signal cables - done
    • - signal patch panel [1] - done
    • - HV cables: received all cables
    • - HV distribution boards: in preparation
    • - LV cables: 100 cables received, 250 cables in total
    • - LV distribution boards. Received 4 boards, performed initial cehck, need to solder connectors [2]
    • - Optical fibers and parts for the trigger/DAQ have been ordered
  • Ongoing projects -- Sasha, all
    • - Tested and labeled ~150 LV and ~200 HV cables -- Laveen
      • Cables ready: 6 layers (LV) and 37 layers (HV)
    • - Prepare modules for the TAC and prototypes (using crystals with some imperfections)
      • 26 modules for TAC [3] and 35 modules [4] for the beam tests are ready
    • - Radiation tests of the PMT active base [5]
      • Finished tests, working on the tech note
    • - Inventory database and GUI for installed electronics
    • - Summer Students (2023)
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / George
    • - Testing procedure [6]
    • - About 1100 dividers have been fabricated
    • - Started removing power regulators on the newly fabricated dividers
    • - George has tested 133 + 41 = 174 dividers (811 tested in total) [7].
    • - Spare PMTs, have about 20, likely need more for the future (order 30 more )?
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad
    • Detector installation [8][9][10]
    • Installation of the LMS
      • 312 fibers installed during this week (800 in total) [11]
    • Cable and divider installation [12][13][14]
    • Still no power on the ECAL platform (expect delay with the development of the trigger/DAQ)
    • Detector installation page
  • Analysis/Simulation

Minutes

Attendees: Bill, Liping, Igal, Olga, Laveen, Sasha, Stjepan, Axel, Phi, Jane, S.T.

  • Laveen will start working on ECAL geometry
    • Use survey data, develop python script to place crystals individually in xml
  • Received all HV cables, but LV cables still coming in in batches
  • No progress on LV distribution board
  • Chris S. working on PMT dividers, George J. from detector support group testing them
    • Remove power regulator due to results of radiation test (MPOD itself is very stable)\
  • All PMT sockets expected to be ready by some time in March
  • 800 fibers for LMS installed, working on organizing bundles to go under platform, next start working on upper region (fibers directed left and right)
