Agenda

  • Preparation of parts for ECAL -- Sasha
    • - signal cables - done
    • - signal patch panel [1] - done
    • - HV cables: received 1280 in total
    • - HV distribution boards: in preparation
    • - LV cables: Received 48 cables during this week
    • - LV distribution boards. Received 4 boards, performed initial cehck, need to solder connectors [2]
    • - Optical fibers and parts for the trigger/DAQ have been ordered
  • Ongoing projects -- Sasha, all
    • - Testing and labeling cables [3], 120 short HV cables testes and labeled during this week.
    • - Prepare modules for the TAC and prototypes (using crystals with some imperfections)
      • 26 modules for TAC [4] and 35 modules [5] for the beam tests are ready
    • - Preparation of the LMS
      • - Need to glue Al flange to the optical fiber
      • - Ready for installation [6]
    • - Radiation tests of the PMT active base [7]
      • Finished tests, working on the tech note
    • - Inventory database and GUI for installed electronics
    • - Summer Students (2023)
  • Testing of PMT dividers -- Sasha / Vlad / Aoran
    • - Testing procedure [8]
    • - Tested 637 divider (all fabricated dividers) [9]. No dividers produced during this week.
    • - Spare PMTs, have about 20, likely need more for the future (order 30 more )?
  • Installation of the FCAL2 detector & integration to GlueX -- Sasha / Vlad / Hakob
    • Detector installation [10][11][12]
    • Installation of the LMS
      • Started yesterday (after long delay) [13]
      • Had to obtain trainings for operating scissor lift (operation without training violates safety rules) (revealed some issues with the lift when inspected by Joe Thomas)
    • Cable and divider installation
      • Started yesterday, making a decision how to stretch them [14]
    • Still no power on the ECAL platform (expect delay with the development of the trigger/DAQ)
    • Detector installation page

Minutes

Attendees: Stjepan, Vlad, Sasha, Liping, Bill, Zisis, Igal, Jon, Malte, Olga, Jane, Phil, S.T.

  • Installation of LMS is ongoing
    • Fibers have been routed and secured on integrating sphere side, to be connected soon
    • Checked fiber transmission with blue led light before gluing on detector side
      • Can glue ~10/hour
    • Used electrical tape on flange at detector side for light tightness
    • Using plastic clamps to organize fiber bundles coming off detector side
    • Bottom half fibers routed downward, upper half split left-right
  • First batch of short LV cables finally arrived
  • LV distribution boards arrived, need to be populated with connectors
  • Plan in place for how to attach short cables in bundles of 6 or 7 to chains
  • Divider tests stalled due to fabrication bottleneck
    • Once populated detector support group can help
  • Stjepan is running simulations of various η decay channels with branching ratios comparable to η→π0γγ
