Goals for Calorimetry Group

  1. Determine preliminary photon reconstruction efficiencies as a function of E, phi and theta in data and simulation with a point-to-point precision of at least 5%.
  2. Measure systematics of pi0/eta mass calibration as a function of detector position to a precision of at least 5 MeV.
  3. Demonstrate agreement of photon reconstruction efficiency and resolution between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.

Minutes

Attendees: Mark, Varun, Sean, Stjepan, Karthik, Zisis

  1. Announcements: PrimEx is underway,
  2. Past Meeting Minutes: no business arising.
  3. Review Action Items: Mark and Zisis will work on these in late September.
  4. Run Operations
    1. FCAL: nominal operations. 5 bases will be swapped today. Mark is working on new HV settings; a good block-by-block calibration is needed first to achieve uniformity across the detector. New process should help with fixing fits when pi0 peak is too far from the right spot. After that, Igal does a non-linearity calibration, on a ring-by-ring basis.
    2. BCAL: we’ll behaved; issue still remaining is that LED pulsing does not change sides; Mark’s fix helps (restarts system every two weeks). Zisis mentioned that gradually, Stjepan and Gabriel will take over calibration and LED monitoring from Karthik and Varun. Mark and Zisis will discuss Regina helping with low-level calibrations.
    3. CCAL: no report.
  5. Calibration: Karthik is working on the CPP calibrations but jcache is slow. Sean suggested some options.
  6. Monitoring
    1. BCAL LED Monitoring: data for the dark rate monitoring was taken at the end of CPP. Another set will be taken at the end of PrimEx.
    2. BCAL (offline): Tolga continues to looks at this, and specifically version 8 and looking at runs with FDC if off.
    3. FCAL (offline): no report.
    4. CCAL (offline): no report.
  7. Reconstruction: no report.
  8. Simulations: no report.
  9. Any other business: none.
