Goals for Calorimetry Group

  1. Determine preliminary photon reconstruction efficiencies as a function of E, phi and theta in data and simulation with a point-to-point precision of at least 5%.
  2. Measure systematics of pi0/eta mass calibration as a function of detector position to a precision of at least 5 MeV.
  3. Demonstrate agreement of photon resolution between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.
  4. Demonstrate agreement of photon reconstruction efficiency between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.

Minutes

Attendees: Varun, Harsimran, Mark, Malte, Zisis

  1. Announcements: FCAL2 will undergo a mini ERR on February 14. We briefly discuss the agenda items and Malte's talk content.
  2. Past Meeting Minutes: nothing to review.
  3. Review Action Items: no review needed.
  4. Detectors
    1. FCAL/ECAL:
    2. Cosmics data has been collected but there is an issue of collecting in raw mode. The LED data ha son issues. This is under investigation.
    3. There is a connection issue for one of the 4 plexiglas LED panes. Malte will trace the issue today. Earlier he verified that all LEDs are working (but swapping cables).
    4. BCAL: We discussed the BCAL hot checkout list. Zisis will contact Jon to get a writeup on the SiPM voltage setting and add to the BCAL Expert Wiki Page. See Jon's 4106865 elog entry. Varun could not take the BCAL occupancy plots with the LED system, because the python script is crashing. Malte and Mark will look at it, and once fixed, Varun will ask for ~1 hour access to the DAQ.
  5. Calibration: The FCAL2 calibration will likely use Igal's method/PrimEx procedure.
  6. Monitoring
  7. Reconstruction: Plans are underway for Varun and Harsimran to work on the new photon covariance matrix to extract the photon shower parameter uncertainties. They will meet with Mark and Simon later this week to get under way.
  8. Simulations
  9. Any other business
