Goals for Calorimetry Group

  1. Determine preliminary photon reconstruction efficiencies as a function of E, phi and theta in data and simulation with a point-to-point precision of at least 5%.
  2. Measure systematics of pi0/eta mass calibration as a function of detector position to a precision of at least 5 MeV.
  3. Demonstrate agreement of photon resolution between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.
  4. Demonstrate agreement of photon reconstruction efficiency between data and simulation as a function of E, phi and theta to within 5%.

Minutes

Attendees: Malte, Sean, Ilya, Igal, Sasha, Jon, Eugene, Zisis

  1. Announcements:
    1. Hall D run March 11-14: Malte reported that last night during the night shift, beam was delivered and Lubomir is running the TRD test. Beam might run until Friday afternoon.
    2. Zisis reported that Karthik will present his omega pi0 efficiency work next week to the Regina work and then the week after at CALWG.
  2. Past Meeting Minutes: were not reviewed.
  3. Review Action Items: were not reviewed.
  4. Detectors
    1. FCAL/ECAL: Sasha reported on the progress of the LMS five installation. At a rate of 80 fibers/day the work could be completed in 10 days.
    2. Zisis asked about the Athens LED components. Malte answered that some board components were purchased and this was useful.
    3. BCAL
  5. Calibration:
    1. Igal reported that the BCAL calibration will be completed by the end of March and PrimEx by mid April. CPP cooking by April 1.
    2. Ilya is working on fine corrections to the non-linearity. He examined the time shift vs shower energy. Sean asked about the time shift vs RF. Time-walk was discussed.
  6. Monitoring
  7. Reconstruction
    1. Sean asked Zisis about Richard's proposal on neutron studies. Zisis' group is committed to other projects, but he will reply to Richard.
  8. Simulations: Zisis will bundle the Regina standalone code and send it to Igal.
  9. Any other business
