Attendees: Mark, Igal, Tolga, Stjepan, Sean, Churamani, Matt, Karthik, Jon, Sasha, Malte, Zisis

  1. Announcements: none
  2. Past Meeting Minutes: defer
  3. Review Action Items: defer
  4. Detectors
    1. FCAL/ECAL: Mark reported that the unstacking of the FCAL is proceeding well and a smooth work pipeline has been established. Hundreds of blocks are unstacked each day by the technical crew. Inspections identify modules with issues (e.g. torn Mylar, loose base, etc) and Malte and Mark work on those. Zisis and Sasha reported on the summer student work; the Regina students (Madison and Madelyn) are working on wrapping damaged crystals for the stacking mock-up exercise. Next they will wrap new crystals (a Crytur shipment arrived) - 120 left to finish the ECAL.
    2. BCAL: Sean stated that all the PrimEx skims have been completed. Stjepan will fetch them from MSS and carry out the calibration.
    3. Mini-BCAL: Zisis reported that Stjepan and Karthik have been working on the calibration and extraction of the energy resolution from the beam tests in March, behind the Pair Spectrometer. The analysis will be shown at our next meeting. Zisis has also assumed the ScFi Technical Coordinator role for the EPIC barrel imaging calorimeter.
  5. Calibration: no report
  6. Monitoring: no report
  7. Reconstruction: Churamani presented an update on the tag & probe method of the BCAL efficiency determination for all three GlueX-I run periods, using the eta prime decay. He generated signal MC with genetaregge over a wide range of Mandelstam t, following Jon’s suggestions. Discrepancies between data and MC efficiencies are evident at low polar angles. Matt asked about the data errors and Churamani will dig into those and prepare slides on how they are calculated. For this method to be useful, errors should be at the few percent level. It was suggested that the binomial error propagation be used, and to ensure the numerator and denominator errors are handled properly. Sean asked about the inclusion of background, both randoms and some bggen background. Churamani will work on this and make slides. As a soon as all these assessments are done he will circulate slides offline, for discussion.
  8. Simulations: no report
  9. Any other business: none.
